Matru Sewa Sangh, Nagpur, celebrated the 128th Birth Anniversary of its founder, Padmashri late Kamlatai Hospet on 21st May 2024.
The chief guest for the program was President Elect, Rtn Jaishree Chhabrani and guest of honor Hon. Secretary Rtn. Dr Madhumati Dhawad of Rotary Club of Nagpur Vision. Senior member and close aide of Kamlatai and a renowned social worker Shrimati Leelatai Chitale graced the occasion. Mrs. Anuradha Mohani,editor Sarvankash, and niece of Kamlatai, addressed the gathering and gave an interesting insight into the life of Kamlatai and her love for community service since a very young age.
Mrs. Rashmi Bhave, Vice President, Matru Sewa Sangh, highlighted the benevolent and charitable activities of Kamlatai during her lifetime.
Chief guest PE Rtn. Jaishree Chhabrani remarked that for the past 103 years Rotary and Matru Sewa Sangh have been associated with charity and noble deeds to make the World a safer place. Rotary Club of Nagpur Vision has extended its philanthropy to Matru Sewa Sangh and renovated the Home for Physically challenged children, Happy Home. Computer Lab with 4 new computers was also set up recently. Rtn Jaishree gave assurance of support in future too.
The meritorious students of Nursing course were felicitated at the hands of dignitaries on the occasion.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Lata Deshmukh, Secretary Matru Sewa Sangh. The program ended with singing of the National Anthem.
