On 18th January 2024, RCNV in collaboration Seth Kesarimal Porwal College of Arts & Science & Commerce ,Kamptee organised a session on menstruation and menstrual hygiene. Rtn. Dr Shantala Bhole, renowned gynaecologist conducted the informative session.
She informed the gathering about adolescent health and changes, menstruation and sustainable menstrual products. She also talked about sexuality and contraception methods for the youth . The session was attended by about 100 students and teachers. It was noteworthy that even some boys were present during the session. This was followed by a short Q &A to address queries of the students.
It was interesting to see girls enthusiastically participating with queries and statements.
This program was arranged as a part of Women’s health initiative by the college and Wash-in Schools (WinS) committee of RCNV.
Coordinator from Porwal college Mrs Shalini Chahande and chairperson Dr Pooja Poddar accompanied by Rt.Ann Mrs Sarita Agrawal from RCNV were also present during the session.
